Based in the UK over the last decade, I have paid particular attention to the design, review and evaluation of projects and programmes. In the earlier part of my career I engaged in long-term implementation of projects in-country. My design and scoping work in the last decade has concerned Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), Disaster Risk Management (DRM), rural livelihoods, and value chain and extension projects and programmes. With regards to evaluation, I have led, or contributed to, a range of complex, and in some cases multi-country, evaluations of agricultural innovation and gender programmes. Recent scoping work has involved a review of existing CSA initiatives in Southern and Eastern Africa for DFIDs VUNA project, and a recent evaluation I have led was the Strategic Final Evaluation of the World Food Programme (WFP)’s Purchase for Progress (P4P) initiative.

Number of assignments in last ten years: 14 evaluation assignments and 9 scoping assignments.
